K Food: Reviews & Ratings
Familly business. The food is really good especially the kimchi by the lady owner. We also really like the saeu(shrimp) kkanpunggi, soondobu tofu soup, scallion pancake, and the LA Galbi. We have been here 2 times now and we will come back sometime.
The restaurant was renovated and looked different. Used to be very dark and seats are a little different. Still tight because of there are still too many tables. We went for lunch on a Saturday and there were not a lot of staff so the service wasn't that great. The food was much better than the last time I remembered. The jaeyok dolsot bap is amazing and not too sweet. And now they give small dishes, very different from the last time we were here. Recommend if you don't mind the lack of service.
K- Food is an absolute gem! The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic Korean cuisine. Every dish we tried was packed with taste and clearly made with care. The owner was so warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. You can really feel the passion behind this place. I’m already looking forward to coming back—highly recommend to anyone craving real Korean food!
This place is fairly new, seems to be family run. Updated: Back for more yummy food. Love the side dishes variety. We had ox knees soup and cabbage short ribs, both were good. Generous amount of ox knees in my soup. The free cold dishes were plenty, great variety. The tables are spacious and felt comfortable not having someone too close. There is a 3% credit card fee like all places, the only thing I did not like is the dollar charged for container for leftover. Price was on a higher end.
Crowded for a weekend lunch. There is only one waitstaff serving all the tables so expect a wait. Price is reasonable. Banchan - delicious and great variety. Fish cake, bean sprouts with the beans removed (I love them removed), kimchi, crab meat with mayo, broccoli, etc Galbi tang - not the best I’ve had but is okay. Taste is there. Meat is tender enough. Tofu stew - not the best I’ve had but is okay. Taste is there. Seafood is okay.
New hidden gem! This place does not disappoint! Food was very flavorful and tasty. The best is their unlimited banchan or side dishes. Every dish I had: pork bone soup, bibimbap, galbi was so good!! Some people say service is slow. It's a husband and wife duo. She's in the front and husband in kitchen so give them a break. Bonus it's byob.
Excellent Korean food. Definitely better than most Korean restaurants in Edison. They used to own keum ho garden, sold off to retire but came back. The side dishes they make fresh daily it seems. 1 less star for service, they are kind and all but they need some help.
Only tried it twice but Kfood has quickly become my favorite and trusted whenever I’m craving authentic Korean bibimbap and bulgogi — the flavors are always spot on, comforting, and truly satisfying. But beyond the amazing food, what really stood out was the hospitality. I believe it was the owner, an older gentleman, who personally served us and kept checking in so kindly to make sure we had everything we needed. When he noticed my toddler eating a banana we brought from home, he cut up fresh fruit just for him and brought it over complimentary — such a thoughtful gesture that really stayed with us. He even helped pack our leftovers right at the table. Also, their kimchi is so good I’d happily buy jars if they ever sold it separately.

K Food, nestled in Edison, New Jersey, stands out as a genuine family-run Korean restaurant that leaves a lasting impression with its authentic flavors and heartfelt hospitality. The moment you step inside, the warmth of the owner is palpable, especially highlighted by the standout kimchi—handmade with care and bursting with depth. Their kimchi alone elevates the entire dining experience, resonating with traditional Korean culinary roots.
The menu showcases a remarkable variety of classic dishes that capture both freshness and balance. Highlights include the saeu kkanpunggi, a crispy, spicy shrimp dish that perfectly marries heat and texture; the soothing soondubu tofu soup, full-bodied and comforting; and the savory scallion pancake, crispy around the edges but tender within. The LA Galbi shines as another must-try, with tender, flavorful marinated short ribs that offer a rich, smoky bite.
Customers appreciate the generous assortment of banchan—small side dishes like fish cake, mild bean sprouts, and crab meat with mayo—that complement each meal and refresh the palate. The recent renovations have brightened the space and created a more inviting atmosphere, though the seating can still feel a bit cramped during busy times. Despite occasional slow service, likely due to limited staff during peak hours, the quality of food consistently outshines these minor hiccups.
Dishes like the jaeyok dolsot bap combine a perfect balance of sweet and savory, served piping hot in a stone bowl that locks in flavor and texture. The ox knee soup and cabbage short ribs offer hearty, generous portions that speak to K Food’s commitment to satisfy authentic Korean cravings. Though some entrees such as galbitang and tofu stew might not be the top of their category, they still hold a solid, comforting presence on the menu.
K Food’s dedication to freshness, traditional preparation, and variety makes it a true gem in the heart of Edison. It’s a place for those who value genuine Korean cuisine served with care and passion—inviting diners to return again and again for its honest, soulful flavors.
